I started the tThe øther to honor the complexity of multicultural roots, the stories of where we come from, and to celebrate individuality and dynamic identities boldly. I am using tThe øther to transcends boundaries and borders to connect us with the unique stories and expressions that help us- how we find belonging, how we find harmony within our multidimensional selves, and walking away from standards not designed for a dynamic and vibrant world. With the other, I use traditional techniques in unexpected ways to shine a light on the artistry and craft that have long underpinned incredible fashion and I use it as a medium to tell stories of identity and belonging. Fashion has always been a vehicle for personal and creative expression. It has always been my medium of choice.

We are working towards creating a holistic product, assessing where excess can be reduced, reused and creating a healthier ecosystem within the supply chain.
We care about the workforce that makes each garment and work to ensure they are working in safe, healthy working conditions and given fair wages. We work with a small boutique factory that employs a small team of workers that range from dyers, printers, Karigars (embroiderers), pattern masters and sewers to bring the collection to life.
We strive to achieve a closed loop on textile and product wastage through the development and production process.
Where will the textile waste go you may ask? We plan to reuse as much as we can in future products as well as using the appropriate means for textile recycling.
We have a zero-stock approach. By avoiding over-production of items, we are doing our part to lower our environmental impact. Our collection is available for pre-order to ensure we make what is wanted. Making less equals less waste along with better working conditions and care the workers will have going into each piece.
Fabrics are dyed in small batches per the orders we receive and we start production when orders are in our hands.
Some styles in this collection and future collections are “found” fabrics meaning they are deadstock pre-consumer fabric that we found and saved from the landfills. These items have limited quantities that can be produced and there is no restocking of those products in those fabrics again.
When you purchase an item, you are pre-ordering this product as a part of a small batch order that goes to our manufacturing partner. After our sales window closes we will be processing the orders to arrange production with all orders received. We will ship your order in the delivery window we provided on the product page and we will keep you up to date on where your product is in the manufacturing process.
You can email us at hello@theother-collection.com and we will do our best to accommodate if fabric hasn't been bought and we haven't started the production process yet. In the case that we have started production, we will let you know when or if the item will be available again.
When we manufacture in smaller “batches” or a small scale assembly line approach for efficiency and consistency. This approach to manufacturing creates consistency in work to the artisans and works without overstraining their resources and livelihoods. We want to create a healthy ecosystem within the supply chain and believe slowing down is the best way to achieve that balance.
Per drop we have an estimated delivery date- between 8-12 weeks from the last day of our sale window. We ask for your patience with the process, sometimes we can experience some unexpected delays because of COVID impacted, shipping delays or other events out of our control. We are a very small business and are on top of getting items in the fastest, most realistic timing possible.
